Foozia minuta

Foozia was a genus of vascular Emsian land plant with a main axis and a number of branches that sub-divide at most once. Some of these bear oval to semicircular sporangia containing Dibolisporites echinaceus, whereas the sterile branches may represent an early foray into leaf-formation. The only known fossils herald from Belgium. It is currently unclassified.

No picture of Foozia minuta was found. Wikipedia and Wikidata were searched and had none. iDigBio and GBIF were not searched: the Paleobiology Database does not place Foozia minuta firmly enough to tell it from something else bearing the same name, and a search on the name alone returns whichever of them was photographed. Smithsonian Open Access did not answer, so this is what the others held rather than everything there is.

Time the record covers

At most 38 million years on record.

Every occurrence read is dated to somewhere between 419.62 Mya and 382.31 Mya, and nothing in the dating separates them, so that window is what the record shows rather than a span.

2 occurrences of Foozia minuta on record, most of them in the Devonian. Bar height is expected occurrences, not a count: each fossil is spread across the span it is dated to, so a tall narrow bar means tight dating and a low wide one means loose.

When

2 occurrences

These are dates about fossils, not the animal: the record can only begin after it arose and end before it died out, so either end may reach further. Shares are expected occurrences: a fossil dated to a span is counted partly in each period it straddles. More on what this infers.
