Admirandopora

Admirandopora is an extinct genus of bryozoans which existed in what is now Mongolia during the Early Carboniferous period. It was described by Y. Ariunchimeg in 1996 as "Admiranda", but Ariunchimeg subsequently changed its name in 2012, after it had been discovered that Admiranda was preoccupied by a fossil foraminifer. The new generic name means "surprising pore" in Latin.

No picture of Admirandopora was found. Wikipedia, Wikidata and iDigBio were searched and had none. Smithsonian Open Access did not answer, so this is what the others held rather than everything there is. GBIF was asked, and what came back is not recorded: nothing, or a picture this site could not tie to Admirandopora, or no answer at all. This entry cannot say which.
